Why Scuba Diving?
Many people become divers because they are looking for that extra something that excites them or makes them feel more alive. Diving is that and much more. Imagine how thrilling it would be finding yourself 80 feet below exploring a sunken vessel in Cozumel, or diving with matinees in a natural spring in Florida.
Diving is a unique experience you can share with your entire family once they are certified. Enhance your beach trip with a family beach dive or boat dive. Many coastal vacation destinations also have scuba diving activities open to certified divers.
a few words about us
Greetings from Scuba Tom
I am Thomas M. Duran, owner and manager of Scuba Club in Salem, AL. I am a certified Instructor Trainer with Scuba Diving International (SDI).
I’ve been involved with scuba diving for eight years. I worked with thousands of students at Auburn University for five years; there I spent four days a week working with open water and advanced certification students. I also acquired cavern and technical certifications while working in Auburn, and became a Dive Control Specialist Instructor with Scuba Schools International (SSI).
Three years ago I decided to open my own business with SDI to pursue my technical diving interests and become an Instructor Trainer. Being an Instructor Trainer gives me the privilege and responsibility of developing divers who want to become more skillful divers and dive leaders.
